Counseling Center
The Counseling Center exists to aid all Southern University at Shreveport (SUSLA) students in their personal, social, and academic adjustment.
The Counseling Center is a unit of the Division of Student Affairs. The Counseling Center complements and supports the University’s academic mission by providing services outside the classroom. Its purpose is to continually enhance students’ welfare by providing services to help students achieve a greater measure of success during their stay at SUSLA.
Major components of the Counseling Center

A Catalyst in the Educational Progress
The Counseling Center acts as a catalyst in the educational process by promoting a healthy environment in which the student can learn, grow, and move toward achieving his or her maximum potential. The Counseling Center facilitates total human development by proving programs that effectively integrate classroom, social, and personal experiences.
A variety of seminars and workshops are planned throughout the academic year for the purpose of enhancing student growth and development.
