2009 Port City Golf Tournament

After cancellations and postponements due to inclement weather, The Southern University Foundation was finally able to see sunlight as they hosted their annual Port City Golf Tournament at Crooked Hollow Golf Course. As an added premium this year, golfers had the opportunity to participate in The Million Dollar, “Hole-in-One” contest. Although no one was able to make a “Hole-in-One” everyone had a great time and more monies were added to the Foundation coffers to provide scholarships to students attending Southern University at Shreveport.

This year, the Foundation honored and paid tribute to Bishop Larry Brandon of Praise Temple Baptist Church and Mr. Kevin McCotter, Director of Corporate Development of Chesapeake Energy. These gentlemen represent a continued and outstanding commitment to higher education and to Southern University at Shreveport.
