SUSLA PLANS ICONIC SPRING GRADUATION

  Southern University at Shreveport’s Spring graduation is scheduled for this Thursday, May 12th in the Shreveport Convention Center starting at 7o’clock.  This year’s ceremony has several notable and iconic individuals on program.  The special guest speaker is Mr. Michael Roberts of St. Louis, whose business empire encompasses television and radio broadcasting, real estate development, as well as, hotel ownership and management including The Clarion Hotel in Shreveport.  Mr Roberts along with his brother, Steven’s assets, interests and investments total over a billion dollars.

  Southern University at Shreveport will be awarding Honorary Doctorate of Humane Letters to 3 distinguished Pastors; Dr. Brady L. Blade Sr.-Mt. Zion Baptist Church, Dr. Harry Blake-Mt. Canaan Baptist Church, and Dr. E. Edward Jones-Galilee Baptist Church.  Dr. Ray L. Belton-Chancellor stated, “Each of these gentlemen have made significant contributions in the areas of civil rights, access to public education, human health, community service and public policy”.

  SUSLA will be conferring 188 degrees and certificates of completion to 174 graduates.
