Presenting The First Northwest Louisiana Black Business Expo
“Businesses Doing Business: Family‐Oriented & Community Focused”
SHREVEPORT, LA – Southern University at Shreveport, The African American Chamber of Commerce and The Minority Business Council is proud to present the first Northwest Louisiana Black Business Expo on Saturday, March 27, 2010, from 9:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. in the Southern University Shreveport Health and Physical Education Building, 3050 Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Drive.
The Black Business Expo is designed to help boost economic development and exposure for Black-owned businesses in our area. This family-oriented event will showcase a diverse array of new and existing business from event planning services to landscaping and interior design companies. Black-owned businesses will be selling and marketing their products and services in their own unique way, to the general public, major corporations and government entities all in effort to expand their growing consumer base. It is hoped that the total community begin to embrace black-owned business more and take advantage of the services they have to offer. This event is free and open to the public and over one-thousand participants are expected to attend.
Southern University at Shreveport Louisiana, an institution within the Southern University System, seeks to provide a quality education for its students, while being committed to the total community. This institution prepares students for careers in technical and occupational fields; awards certificates and associate degrees as well as offering courses and programs that are transferable to other colleges and universities. Dedicated to excellence in instruction and community service, this open enrollment institution promotes cultural diversity, provides developmental and continuing education, and seeks partnerships with business and industry.
